Located in an unassuming corner of east Dallas, Sykamore Vegan House is a modest family owned restaurant serving a melange of Asian and Western vegan dishes.
Although small, the family has put much thought into the food and the space. It provides a compact and well-balanced menu, from savory Asian dishes and tasty tortillas wraps, to fresh juice and smoothies.
The name ‘Sykamore’ was conceived before the current location was found. It has several meanings including a homophobic reference to the Venerable Mahākāśyapa, the first Zen Patriarch to receive Dharma from Gautama Buddha. The second concept is ‘Syka-and-More’ – from the community, and serve the community.
In fact, in front of the humble shop there is a thriving sycamore tree branching out from an old root.
The restaurant has been opened to the public since May 27th 2014.
We do delivery, catering, to-go and dine-in.
